What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Construction Management Enterprises, DBA CMIS, handles information collected through the public CMIS website and CMIS services, including demo requests, contact forms, account administration, support, and authorized software use. Customer project records inside the CMIS application may also be governed by customer agreements, agency requirements, and other accepted contract documents. If those documents conflict with this public policy, the applicable agreement controls for that customer relationship.

Information CMIS collects

CMIS may collect information you choose to provide, including name, agency or company, role, mailing address, email address, phone number, message content, account information, support requests, feedback, and project-related information submitted through authorized CMIS services. Do not submit personal information unless you are authorized to do so. The public website may also collect limited technical information such as browser type, device or connection information, user agent, form timing, cookie preference selections, request metadata, and IP-derived security identifiers used for security, rate limiting, logging, and site operation.

Information collected automatically

As visitors interact with the website or services, CMIS may use cookies, local storage, logs, and similar technologies to support security, preferences, sessions, forms, troubleshooting, and basic operation. Optional cookie categories are controlled through the cookie preference panel. Browser settings may also allow you to block or delete cookies, but doing so may affect forms, preferences, security controls, or other features.

How CMIS uses information

CMIS uses information to provide and improve the website and services, respond to demo and contact requests, support procurement conversations, administer accounts, provide service and security notices, support authentication, deliver requested information, troubleshoot issues, maintain security, prevent spam or abuse, carry out contractual obligations, support billing and collection where applicable, comply with legal obligations, and fulfill the purpose for which information was provided.

Phone numbers and communications

When you provide a phone number to CMIS, it may be used for account-related, service-related, and security communications, including two-factor authentication codes sent by voice call or text message. Phone numbers may also appear in project-related views that are accessible only to authorized CMIS users where needed for project coordination. CMIS does not use public website phone numbers for marketing text messages. Standard message and data rates may apply. You may update or remove your phone number through account settings where available or by contacting CMIS, but removing a phone number used for authentication may limit access to some features.

AI-assisted features

CMIS Assistant and related AI-assisted features may process prompts, project context, available CMIS records, feedback, and user-provided information to generate draft text, summaries, explanations, or suggestions. Users should only enter information they are authorized to use in CMIS and should review the AI Product Disclaimer before relying on AI-assisted output.

Sharing information

CMIS may share information with team members, agents, contractors, service providers, and other parties who need it to operate the website, provide CMIS services, support customers, respond to requests, maintain security, or carry out business operations. CMIS may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, government request, contract obligation, business transfer, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CMIS, customers, users, or others. CMIS may use or disclose aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual. CMIS does not sell information submitted through public website forms.

Third-party links and services

The CMIS website or services may link to third-party websites or use third-party service providers. CMIS does not control third-party websites, and their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Security and retention

CMIS uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information from accidental loss and unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. CMIS keeps information only as long as needed for business, service, security, legal, contractual, or operational purposes, then deletes, anonymizes, or isolates it as appropriate. CMIS maintains incident response practices for security events.

Children under 13

CMIS websites and services are not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 are not permitted to use CMIS services. CMIS does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If CMIS learns that it collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, CMIS will take reasonable steps to delete that information. If you believe CMIS may have information from or about a child under 13, please contact CMIS.

Payment information

The public CMIS website does not collect credit card, debit card, or bank account information. If payment or billing information is needed for a customer relationship, it is handled through separate business processes and applicable agreements.

Your choices and requests

You may ask CMIS to review, correct, or delete personal information you submitted, subject to legal, contractual, security, verification, and record-retention obligations. CMIS may decline or limit a request if fulfilling it would violate law, interfere with contractual obligations, compromise security, prevent CMIS from maintaining accurate business records, or make information incorrect. Cookie preferences can be changed from the website footer.

Policy updates

CMIS may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in practices, services, or legal requirements. When the policy changes, CMIS will update the date shown on this page.
